Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Release Date: February 6th, 2016
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies gives a fleshy twist on Jane Austen's famous novel. A mysterious plague breaks out over 19th century England. Iconic heroine Elizabeth Bennett, who is a master in martial arts and weaponry, unites with Mr. Darcy against zombies. Let's get ready to cast aside personal pride and social prejudices to kick-ass and take names against the undead!

Allegiant
Release Date: March 18th, 2016
For fans of the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, the franchise is heading into its last stages with a third installment. Tris (Shailene Woodley) has unveiled the corrupt experiment of their society's faction system. Our leading heroine and her friends are scaling the walls that encase a futuristic Chicago from the rest of the world. What they find brings even more twists and turns of what it means to be Divergent.

Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice
Release Date: March 26th, 2016
Everything is being kept under wraps for the next installment of the Zac Snyder's Superman franchise. From what we can gather: Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) ventures to Metropolis to pre-emptively combat Superman (Henry Cavill), while another villain led by Lex Luther (Jesse Eisenberg) threatens humankind. Also, Wonder Woman swoops in as a mighty force against their new enemies. It's hard to believe this one won't be a box office giant!

Captain America: Civil War
Release Date: May 6th, 2016
The next saga of the Captain America is on the horizon! A calamitous worldwide incident pits the Avengers against each other into two opposing teams between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) against Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Meanwhile a new enemy threatens the order of the world. Throw in Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) for some soul-crushing feels. Whose side are you on?

Finding Dory
Release Date: June 17th, 2016
In 2013, Ellen Degeneres finally had her dreams come true when a sequel to Finding Nemo was announced. The second film will focus on the adorable and beloved Dory. Her short term memory is beginning to lapse setting her, Merlin, and Nemo on a journey to find her long lost family.

Independence Day: Resurgence
Released: June 24th, 2016
The intergalactic battle against an extraterrestrial race did not go quietly into the night as we once presumed in 1996. We will face another good fight - not against tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. Once again the battle for our right to live is being threatened by an alien invasion. Are you joining? *raises hand*

Suicide Squad
Release Date: August 5th, 2016
Like Superman versus Batman: Dawn of Justice, not much is known about this films' specific plot except what you can extract from the trailer. For Suicide Squad, supervillains are coerced into accepting a secret government mission that will likely result in their deaths. We witnessed how the trailer set the 2015 San Diego Comic Con and the internet on fire - surely, the film will do the same when it finally hits theaters.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them
Release Date: November 18th, 2016
Move over Gryffindors! 2016 is the dawning of the age of Hufflepuffs. Author and screenplay writer J.K. Rowling invites us back to the wizarding world with a spin-off of the Harry Potter series. Famed Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) takes us on an adventure of fantastic beasts and trying to find them in 1920s New York City. This first installment, of three planned films, is directed by Harry Potter veteran director David Yates. Are we excited? Just a smidge.

  2. Thanks Brittani! I'm so anxious and excited for Civil War. Rogers' fate in the comic books has me worried for the movie.

  3. I'm weirdly excited for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, it's kind of hard to explain. Aside from the awesome cast, there's just going to be something very cool about seeing two completly barmy genres collide. Awesome post as always Katy, great stuff :)

  4. Thank you! I'm excited for it too - I went to the movies and the trailers were just *UGH sexist* until P&P&Z. It's going to be fun and so different from what else is being released.
